Summary

My blog is going to revolve around Suzanne Collins’ book series “The Hunger Games” and its upcoming film adaption. It will feature news regarding the filming, actors, schedule, and casting of the movie as it becomes available. Lionsgate is currently producing the film, and they have been prolifically supporting the fan community with tidbits, screenshots, and information on the film as of late. Now would be the perfect time to make a splash in the fan community! I read the series this past Summer and fell in love with the books. I’ve actually been toying with the idea of starting a blog related to the series for a while already. This seems like the perfect chance to show it off!

Blog Title

The current blog title is “The Hanging Tree”. This is a reference to a song in the books which the main character’s (Katniss Everdeen) father used to sing to her as a child. It also becomes increasingly important as the books go on. The domain name is “Violent Blue” (violentblue.net – already active). This is a reference to the character Finnick Odair, who was famous for his expert swimming and killing skills from a previous Hunger Games. I might change the blog title to “Violent Blue”, as well, in order to make it a more seamless experience.

Topic

The primary topic of my blog will be Hunger Games filming news. It will also deal with themes from the books.

Frequency

Once or twice a week depending upon the length and amount of information in the posts. If there is a sudden drought of information from Lionsgate, the posts will deal with general themes, stories, and comparisons in the books.

Audience

Fans of the books series, fans of movies, people who dislike Twilight, and fans of anything worth reading in general. I am trying to grow a reputation on the established Hunger Games sites. I’m optimistic because a few posts I’ve written on my previous blog about the Hunger Games have been very well received and viewed.

Design

I’ve already been working on a Hunger Games theme for a few weeks now. It will be mostly dark but with a lot of red and orange contrasting. It will also have cool animated-GIF Hunger Games Mockingjay pins on fire.

Content

I am subscribed to multiple blogs and news sites devoted to The Hunger Games’ filming. I also follow multiple cast Twitters. I’ll be pretty aware of even tiny details as they come out. Other information will be gathered from the books.
